It's really weird to hear her speak Afrikaans, I'm Dutch myself and I can understand what she's saying but because I saw so many movies of her with her English/American accent it's strange to hear this... I still think she's one of the most amazing actresses with her diverse roles, she dares to stand out and try different? things. I have the upmost respect for her, she is definitly a role model for someone like me who's dream is to be an actress :)

@spackhollogay Definitely. The Flemish in Belgium speak and write in a form of standard Dutch, although there are distinct Flemish dialects. Afrikaans, on the other hand, developed in isolation from Dutch in Europe over the centuries, with differences in vocabulary, simplified grammar and later on, simplified spelling. Dutch and Afrikaans are now as separate from? each other as Spanish and Portuguese.
